El Atf Power Station

EL ATF POWER STATION

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
El Atf Power Station 750 MW Combined Cycle Project is located on Mahmoudia city, El Behira. The project will include a power block consisting of:
Two 250 MW (nominal, ISO) combustion turbine generators (CTGs), each feeding exhaust gases to its respective unfired heat recovery steam generator (HRSG).
Steam from the two HRSGs will be fed to one 250 MW (nominal), single reheat, condensing Steam Turbine Generator (STG). The estimated facility net output will be approximately 750 MW (nominal, ISO).
The steam exhausted from the steam turbine will be fed into a once-through cooling, single-pass and divided water-box condenser.
Water for the power plant cooling demand will be obtained from the Nile River (Rosetta Branch) and discharged to the Nile River (Rosetta Branch) .
Natural gas will be the primary fuel. Solar will be the secondary back up fuel.
Power will be generated at manufacturer’s standard voltage in the CTGs and the STG, stepped up through main transformers, and fed to the EEHC National grid via a 220 kV, GIS switchyard

Location Challenges:

The location of the project is one of the major challenges of the project.
EL atf power station is located inside a very populated and busy city.
The project is located in Mahmoudia city between the Nile river and Mahmoudia Canal.
The area of the project is about 12 Feddan which is considered a small area compared to other power plant projects.
